In April 2014 two further countries entered into the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction. Japan and Iran are these new contracting parties to the Convention. Spectrum of the countries, that perceive unlawful removal/retention of the child from the place of its usual domicile abroad as the undesirable phenomenon, has thus been extended. For the future it will be possible to ask for return of the child that was removed/retained unlawfully in Japan/Iran or that was removed/retained unlawfully from Japan/Iran abroad within the so called return proceedings.
