International child abduction – new contracting parties to the Hague Convention

The number of contracting parties to the Hague Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction has significantly extended – Bolivia (with the effective date from 1 October 2016), Pakistan (with the effective date from 1 March 2017), Jamaica (with the effective date from 1 May 2017) and Tunisia (with the effective date from 1 October 2017) are new members. So in future it will be possible to apply for return of the child that was wrongfully removed/retained in the mentioned states or was wrongfully removed from the mentioned states into another state that is the contracting party to the Hague Convention within the bounds of so called return proceedings .More detailed information concerning this issue can be found here.
